I have been in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota for the past 23 years. I am married to my summer sweetheart, Brady Markuson and we have 3 kids; Mikayla, Drew & Brooklyn and 2 sweet as can be goldens; Remy & Stella. We are Laker fans through and through and you will see us at all the football games, basketball games as well as musicals, track & field and much more! GO LAKERS!
I am also the proud owner of Markuson Travel and am a full time travel advisor. I love traveling and exploring new places in this big world! Vacations are my jam!
I have also been passionate about photography since high school. I was once a small time model (mostly runway jobs and commercial work in my home state of Iowa) and that lead to a curiosity of cameras, lighting, posing and all things related to photography. I took classes in high school and college and here we are! So thankful for my high school arts teacher, Mr. Street, for encouraging me to keep creating.
I have been taking portraits on and off since 2005 (in between having kids and going digital)
The way I see it, I have the best of both worlds- I get to plan amazing travel AND I get to create beautiful portraits. No 2 days are the same & I love that.
When I am not planning travel, traveling, taking photos or cheering on my kids and the Lakers, you can find me on the lake in the summer, trying out new recipes or watching the latest binge-worthy series such as Handmaids Tale.
